​      The Airport of Prince Abdul Majeed bin Abdul Aziz, Al Ula Municipality, received the first flight of Saudi Airlines coming from Riyadh city at 11:00 am, last Monday.

The Airport is the first airport to be operated to a tourist destination and for a tourist purpose. The project aims at supporting SCTA's efforts for arranging easy and fast access to Al Ula municipality which includes a number of important antiquities the most significant of which are Madain Saleh and Al Ula Heritage Village.

Al Ula municipality, according to SCTA's statistics, last year has received 75.000 national tourists who came to visit Madain Saleh. The number is expected to rise to 100.000 by the end of the current year.
